At the end of class, we did two different activities: 1) Small groups acted out a short story called "The New Bicycle." One group changed the bush in the story to a dog; see if you can tell which group did this! What do you think is portrayed very clearly in each of the stories? 2) With only a few minutes before the end of class, students had conversations in sign language (from a list) about their favorite color/animal/candy/fruit/TV show/subject in school, their middle name, hobby, etc.
Can you sign these concepts/sentences in ASL? September 27, 2016
Everyone in class thought of an animal and then lined up alphabetically by their animal's name. Can you read each of the animal names in this video? Practice spelling them, too! (Hint: You can pause the video while you practice.) Is everyone in the right order? Groups of three or four students acted out a story about a trip to the new water park in town. Check the videos to find clear, descriptive aspects of each performance, then copy/practice those aspects to improve your ASL skills.

There are some great ideas here! Watch these videos to see how to make your thoughts clear in ASL. When you find something amazing, copy-practice it so it becomes "yours." There were two other brave souls who showed us their imaginative creations, but I goofed in recording them! I'm so sorry! If you two want to go again, we'll watch you and I'll attempt to record again! |
